Vegetable 101: Eat Your Greens

Posted on October 24, 2014 by Mary Patterson

Eat your greens every day! When making changes in your diet, in the beginning, we recommend keeping it positive. Think about ADDING IN healthy foods. Your veggies are the first place to start (next to your water in take). You should be getting 3-5 services of vegetables per day. Specifically, focus on your green veggies. Even more specific, your leafy greens!

Focus every day on getting at least one serving of leafy greens into your daily eating and daily servings of vegetables.

What are your leafy greens?

Spinach, Brocoli rabbi, Bok Choy, Collards, Kale, Arugula, Lettuce, Cabbage, Brussel Sprouts, Basil, Cilantro.....

Already Getting 1 serving a day?

Go for two servings OR try a new leafy green!

Don't like those leafy greens?  Experiment!

  • Kale Chips.
  • Go to your local juice bar and get a freshly made green juice.
  • Chop your greens and put in red sauce.
  • Add your greens to your wrap or sandwich!
  • Use a leafy green in place of bread.

Adding in vegetables and more specifically your leafy greens will make a huge difference in your daily nutritional habits and how your body feels!
