Don't do what your friend is doing

I found myself in different conversations the past couple of weeks that lead me back to this quote by Robert Frost that we have hanging over our office door. (a touching gift from my mother when we moved south)

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. -Robert Frost

To me this quote is not saying to be different all the time or ignore what everyone else is doing. It is telling you to be brave and follow your heart. Follow your heart, but use your brain in the process too.

We can relate this concept to so many things in life. Let's take a moment and relate it to fitness.

Your best friend is a runner. Does that mean you should hit the trails?

Your husband is a cyclist. Does that mean you should start grinding the pedals?

Your cousin does crossfit. Does that mean you should join your local crossfit box?

Your cubical mate loves barre. Does that mean your booty should hit the barre?

The best part of fitness is there are so many choices! Explore them all! Find what works for you! Find what empowers you and keeps you moving, healthy and working on your fitness. Every fitness "expert" is going to have their opinion on what you should be doing.

Listen to them. Listen to ALL of them.

And then find what works for you!

Of course, I think everyone should join Gaia Fit! It is the best workout in town! ;-)

However, don't just join because your neighbor did. Give it a try because it challenges you and brings you onto or keeps you on your journey of fitness and health!

Follow your heart. Challenge yourself. Put in the hard work.

Find what is going to keep YOU moving and healthy.

There is no one size fits all.

It is okay to be different.
